Mason City High School is sponsoring the State Academic Decathlon on March 4th & 5th. They are looking for volunteers for a variety of roles and timeslots. All volunteers will be provided with easy to follow instructions.
Consider giving a few hours to these bright high school students from around the state!

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to shift to allow for parking.
Description of roles:
Speech Timer: watch a stopwatch during speeches and record/announce time
Test Proctor: sit in a room with students taking a test, make sure students adhere to rules, may help play sound/video on Chromebook if necessary
Super Quiz Proctor: sit at a table and check students quizzes, announce if correct or incorrect
Speech Judge: listen to student speeches and give feedback on a tablet, feedback rubric includes things like volume, pacing, etc. no knowledge of speech or topics required
Interview Judge: conduct conversation with students, asking questions and providing feedback, detailed instructions will be provided to volunteer, must be comfortable having a conversation
